MealFlip — the SaaS marketplace for campus meal-plan value

Every year, students lose the unused value of their campus meal plan. MealFlip turns it into a market: a peer-to-peer SaaS marketplace where you buy campus food for less and recover value that would otherwise be lost. We designed and built the full system — listings, discovery, transactions and payouts — powered by Next.js, Supabase and Stripe.

The context

Two sides of a market, but no marketplace

Campus meal plans often work on a “use it or lose it” basis: whatever goes unused is gone. On the buyer side, eating on campus is expensive. The product needed to bring both sides together with trust: post, discover, pay and get paid, with no friction and no risk.

  • Meal-plan value lost at the end of every period.
  • No reliable channel to connect buyers and sellers.
  • Payments and payouts to secure end to end.
  • A need for real time: listings and availability always up to date.
Our approach

We built MealFlip as a real SaaS: a clear architecture, secure payments and a foundation ready to scale with the number of campuses.
